    Who has the widest wheels?

And I'm not just talking widebody. What about on a stock body e36? I'm looking at a set of 17x9 fronts, and 17x10.5 in the rear. Curious if I can fit them with a fender rolling, and maybe a fender stretch. Want to see some e36 with wide rears too!

    Thanks guys,
    Mike

It's all about the offset, but you will have to stretch tires and roll fenders

Not sure. I looked on tirerack for a 355 (owner of current wheels says they are off a 335) and 355 is +34mm front, and +64mm rears. May just contact Fikse and get inner barrels.

find advanwrx e36 pics with his 17x9 et20's in the rear and see where hes at. then +/- the offset from yours and then add 1.5". im trying to go 10's in the rear and from where his sits i'd need to have another 27mm's on the inside to sit as flush as his on the outside. i can imagine the raping that would need to be done to fit 10.5's

You could easily fit 10.5 with a fender roll and stretch if the offset allows. I'm not sure of 335 specs..( thats what you meant right 335?).. but I'm guessing you will need some sort of spacer with such high offsets which means you could easily fit them. If the offset is anything less than 25-30+, youll have trouble fitting them. I'd say a 35-40 offset would be perfect.

    That looks SICK.

And guys, they are off a 1999 Ferrari 355. The guy doesn't know the offset, so I'm thinking 34mm fronts and 65mm rears. How do I make these work? I know adapt-it can provide 5x108 to 5x120 adapters..but do I need spacers, etc?

You may or may not need spacers depending on how wide the adapters are. Adapters are usually, what? 20mm. You would probably need a spacer. I believe my wheels at 17x10 et30 are really really close to the highest offset you could run with a 10" wide wheel. So for a 10.5" wheel, you would want an offset of a little less than +30. Probably et25. IMO you would need way too much adapter/spacer to run the wheels. It's doable though.

Yeah I just did some calculations and you'd need atleast 30-40mm of spacer/adapter to fit the wheels. Scratch what I said before, the wheels would need to be spaced to an offset of around +25-30. You might be able to get away with a et35. Any less you'd poke too much on only rolled fenders, and any more you'd be rubbing something on the inside. You might be able to create some room on the inside of the wheel well for a higher offset but my fm10s rubbed my exhaust badly with fitted rubber and a +30 offset. I never really checked how much room I had on the inside of wheels with stretched tires.. It's def doable if you're willing to space the wheels out that far.

You are speaking too many wheel terms! hah. If I were to get adapters made, how much would I need them to be to fit properly. They are something like this..studs on one side, stock on the other.

A 35mm adapter would probably be perfect. With a 40mm adapter, the inside of your wheels would sit almost exactly where the inside of my 17x10+30s do and poke about 12mm more. With a 35mm, your wheels would be 5mm in more and as long as there is room on the inside you will be good. You may even be able to get away with a 30mm adapter but that might be too close on the inside. I hope that makes sense.

I'm only talking about the rear wheels, the front will be no problem. If you are serious in getting them, I could fool around with my wheels and figure out the smallest adapter you could run without rubbing. Let me know. My car is stored in the garage so it would be no problem slapping on my fm10s and making some measurements.

So basically if you got a 40mm adapter it would poke like this +2mm:

If you got a 30mm adapter it would poke like this+2mm:

^Don't adapters that big mess with the load on the wheel bearings?
