Need New DME for 95 530i, Questions about Imobilizer(EWS?)

I have had a rough running problem in my '95 530i for a while now. I took apart the DME and found burn marks on the insulator which covers the transistors that fire the coils. I replaced the transistor and now my car runs much better for a while and then starts to act up again. I am thinking the burnt transistor took some other component out with it and when heat builds up in my DME over time this component starts to make things act up.

I am going to get a new one off ebay but I understand that my model year car has a factory imobilizer type thing called EWS I think. If I order DME off ebay for my car (or if anyone has one on the forum they would like to sell), will I run in to problems with this EWS?

I was thinking I would just put the chip from my car in to any computer I bought since my computer is shared between 540, 530, 740 etc. My part# for my DME is 0261 200 404.

just look for dme's with the same part # (404)
