What's up?
I'm new here and I had a few questions. I looked at a 90 535i this afternoon. There are a few things I noticed that are keeping me from getting it. First of all the car started without pressing on the clutch. Is there not a clutch switch on these?
Also the sunroof seemed to be out of alignment. How hard is that to fix?
The shifter was EXTREMLY sloppy. It felt like a friends 92 Saturn Anyone have any idea what would cause that? Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
As far as I know, BMWs of this vintage do not have a clutch switch.
I have never messed with the sunroof, but according to Bentley it looks easy to do.
A sloppy shifter can be a couple of things. Mine in similar, but not too bad. Get under the car and check the linkage. The shifter connects to another arm. A nut/bolt connects the two. Check and see it's tight or worn. I haven't had a chance to inspect mine further.
