yeah you cant fit these calipers to a drum brake rear end, they have nothing to bolt to on the drum trailing arms, so you would need to make brackets, not really worth it considering there is a factory option for disc brake rear (323i) im pretty sure all the rear disc options are in the FAQ's. the main reason for this is to use a better designed e30 caliper rather then the flexible old 323i ones.

As promised, here's my after. The E30 ebrake cable didn't work either. You need an e21 323i brake cable, go figure

I am presently working on this as well. I have a set of e21 323i trailing arms, and a set of 325i IX caliper kuckles.
I noticed that with this set, the screws actually go all way threw the E30 carriers without redrilling. I am going to start grinding the center tabs to .580"

Can anyone confirm that the brake lines you need to use are the 6 piece e36 stainless steel braided lines?
When I got stainless lines for my 323i trailing arm conversion, I measured the lengths of all of the rubber brake hoses, gave the dimensions to my guy at BavAuto and they put together a set for me. Everything fit up without a hitch, although the lines at the calipers had to make bit of an extra curl. That was a few years ago, but I bet they'll still do that.
NOTES: I'm using e30 calipers (modified to fit the 323i mounting points). As others said earlier in this thread, you have to use 323i emergency brake cables because they are the only ones that will work in an e21 for this setup. Good used ones are super scarce and new ones are about $30 each. One more expense to add to the budget for this conversion.
