I don't have a torque wrench. How far should I tighten the 22mm thrust arm ball joint nut? It looks like if I go all the way (to hand tight) I'll crush the rubber sleeve? Thanks!

Buy a torque wrench, one of the most important tools in the box.
A torque spec was given for a reason.

Tighten it as tight as you can get it. If it looks like you'll crush the boot then the boot isn't properly installed, move it lower. I usually use an impact gun on it.
