Will minor imperfections on a trigger wheel cause issues?

I got my new pulley today (again)...this time i'm not going to tweak it

the trigger wheel I got with it has a couple little chips and one chunk taken out of one of the teeth. is this going to be a problem for the sensor or can it compensate for small imperfections?

It might effect the operation, do you have a picture? It all depends on how bad and where the chips are.

Yeah, that should be fine. Make sure the center of the VR sensor is aligned so that it sees the unchipped portion of that one bad tooth.

Remember it's only firing once for every 18 teeth that go by, so imperfections are not a big deal.

no bmws, oh wait.. 91' m5 woo!
It will not make a difference. You can even trigger on the messed up part, the system does not care about that either.
I make cool things for your car.

    BMW and Fiat Performance Parts

I also drive italian cars, or own broken ones anyway.
