Hi Jim,
I just placed my order yesterday (V781011) and did not click a banner or mention your name. Is there any way to tag the order after-the-fact so the site gets some proceeds?
Thanks,
Jay

Jim,
My 2011 X5d needs new all-season run-flats! What do you recommend as the best deal as replacements? I have the stock 19" wheels, and the stock tires are size 255/50-19. I'm assuming I should stick with the same size tires?
If I ordered through you, do you pair up with local shops for installation? Feel free to PM me if you wish! Thanks.
work --> radiator hoses, coolant flush, lisence plate delete, rear-headrest delete, MOMO Sphere shift knob, Mobil 1 0W40 @ 113249/119500/124700, air filter @ 119500, Cosmos CAI w/ K&N Filter @ 124400, front brake rotors/pads/calipers, brake fluid flush, M-Technic rear diffuser, deep interior clean (removed seats & Leatheriqued) @ 118k, Panasonic CD player...
I would say the Pirelli Scorpion Verde AS at 219.20 or the Michelin Latitude Tour HP at 233.39 would be the two best all season run flat tires. If I can help let me know.
Hi Jim , with all the choices I have been wondering if you have any suggestions. 1997 328 I . Car will be used mostly track used . I have been scouring your website more information more choices and i am sure it ends up apples and oranges . Some like them and some won't . Size wise I am looking for 245/40/17 or 235/40/17 . Thanks for your thoughts , you can pm if you like

Hi Jim , I think extreme preformance would be a good choice for now . Will be driving car to track and on occasion on the street
thanks
Robert
Then the best tire out is the Bridgestonre RE71R. They are almost an R compound for the dry but still offer fairly good wet traction. They are a little noisy but that is expected in this level of performance. They are in stock at 166.49 with free shipping.
If I can help let me know.
Hi,
95M3, H&R OEM Sport Springs, Konis, Stock Brakes, 17x8 ET 40 OZ wheels.... Not much available in 235/40/17 anymore. Very interested in Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Do you think 245/40/17 would create clearance issue(s)? Circumference is .99 inches bigger so speedo will be off a bit.... and i guess i loose a tiny bit on acceleration. It's basically street use with an autocross or two thrown in.
Thanks in advance!

Hi. 2009 328i xDrive.
Looking for a great all season tire that I can leave on year-round (if there's enough snow on the ground that snow tires would make a big difference I'm just going to stay home). Should I just bite the bullet and get the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, or is the Conti DWS06 or Pirelli worthy competitors?
I commute about 30 miles one way; mostly highway, and would lean to one that is quieter (if there's any difference).
Thanks in advance.
Thanks! Ordered. I may not have entered your name, though - is there a way to correct that?
Send me the order number to jim@tirerack.com
I DD my slow e30 with RT-615k+'s happily (don't care about NVH, and can deal with the hydroplaning), and go straight to the track every few moths or so.
I am trying to figure out how treadwear and handling consistency compare between the RT660 (or RE-71R) and RT-615K+.
Things I am concerned about:
1) Decreased consistency over hot laps on short tracks (not autocross) (Compared with >15x 45-75s/laps on RT-615K's with stable handling characteristics >100 laps. I swap to hoosiers for tracks >100s).
2) Large decrease in overall track/street treadlife.
e34 540i/6 :: e30 M62/6 :: e30 318is :: c5 Z06
I would be concerned that the RT660 and RE-71R handling characteristics may not be quite as consistent lap after lap as the RT-615K+
2) Large decrease in overall track/street tread life.
The compound on the RT660 and RE-71R are softer/stickier, so I think you would find the tread life to be noticeably less on the track and street. For the amount of time they do last, they both should be a bit quicker around the track than the RT-615K+.
Jim seems to be the man here. Hi Jim! I have a question for you. I have a 2011 BMW 328i Coupe. I’m pretty sure that’s an E92LCI. It’s my, new to me, daily driver and occasional canyon runner. If I lower it, I won’t lower it any more than one inch. I’m looking at a set of wheels in 17x8.5 with a 38ET. Would that be a good fit for my car? And of course, I’ll need a new set of tires from you guys? Would you suggest 235/45x17 or 225/45x17? I was thinking 235/40x17. But, I’d rather not go any thinner on the sidewalls. Thanks for any advice!

YOu would be fine with the 17X8 or 17X8.5 wheels and the offset in the 38 to 40 mm for the 17X8.5 should be good. I would stay with the 225/45R17 all the way around. The 225/45R17 will give you a lot more options, better ride quality and they will help protect the wheels from damage.
If I can help just let me know.
Jim was curious if you could point me into the right direction. I have a 2018 X5 with offset front and rear wheels. I am looking to purchase aftermarket wheels and tires to be able to rotate. Could you please point me in the correct direction what offset etc. to purchase from your website to be able to accomplish this. I would like keep as sporty as possible and still be able to rotate.
Jim, I'm getting ready to purchase new tires for my '87 M6. I'm looking at Michelin PS4's in tire sizes 235/45 and 265/40 on 17 diameter wheels with 8" wide front and 9" wide rear. I've been looking for someone to chime in on whether or not they will fit under the M6 fenders without rubbing or needing to have the fenders rolled. They are going on BBS/BMW style 5 RC090 and RC091 wheels.
I've got 235/45 on RC090 square wheel arrangement now. The front tires are Continental extreme contact and they rub slightly on the OEM spring perch. Now I'm having the struts rebuilt into coilover struts by Ground Control and they won't have the same spring perch as OEM. But I don't know if there will be the same problem with rubbing as before. The old tires look sound and the rub is very slight, but rubs non-the-less. What do you recommend. The OEM wheels were Michelin TRX and I don't want to use them for a regular use car. Driving is spirited, but probably not on the track. Never know though.

Jim, I have another option for tire sizes - 235/45 front and 255/40 rear. I’ve found Continental is an option, though the rear tires will be shorter by .4 inches. How might this affect the ABS system if at all. How do the PS4’s compare to the extreme contact Contiinentals for spirited driving dry and wet.

Will the use of wheel studs, interfere with using the center cap on RC090 style wheels?
