    Aux Fan stuck on

    Hello all,

I recently purchase a bmw e30 as a project car and have done a few things to it. I have encountered a road block and that is my aux fan is stuck on even after i turn off the car and remove the key.

The previous owner told me that the aux fan was wired to turn on whenever the key was turned to on / accessories in the ignition, and should turn off when you remove the key. It started out like this but now it won't turn off! I have searched the forum and haven't been able to figure out whats going on.

Has anyone heard of wiring the aux fan like this? If so how is it wired?
    Please help an e30 newb!

    Thank you very much

Sounds like the relay is sticking. Is it stuck on low or high speed?

    Pull each relay and see.

I would *think* someone just jumped a relay with key on power, at least that is how I would do it, but who knows. It is a starting place.

No problem? I would go ahead and replace both the relays to make sure it doesn't stick again.
