i will catch *&@** for saying this but if a dealership doesent purchase that ride i would be very very surprised.
That's not an actual procar, and has apparently been for sale for quite a while.

I remember Wayne's post about the M1 I did not realize it was the same car. I know its not a real Pro Car but had a "Pro Car" treatment, anyway I still like, I liked it back in March as evidence of my post on page 3, ha ha ha

I am confused. It says it is a 1979 model year, but the VIN tag says the production date was 'JAN 84'. That does not make sense.![]()

well i no that sc builds bmws i would just assume here that the car in question was built here um i dont see so many nostalgic bmws for sale here in the state so i assumed it was a us build, my mistake i should have went back did my resarch before i posted this question sorry
It's not even "Procar treatment." It's "Procar paint and some other sh*t." It has a SUNROOF for gawd's sake!
Somebody is looking to flip it for a whole lot of cash. I think the asking was around $100-110k a few months ago. If I had that kind of dosh I'd look for an M1 that hadn't been customized for some sheikh.

Yeah, I've seen that car in person several times. No one wants it, because it's a not-so-clever fake. It's like buying a 325iS with M badges. (except 325iS's aren't as rare as M1's). The body kit wasn't made by BMW or any racing affiliates, the M colors are off, and the way the colors were painted on is all wrong. The sunroof is one of those $20 e-bay pop up ones you see on civic's and things. You're basically paying for some idiot's attempt at making a rare car cooler.
Well, it may be a not-so-clever fake of a Procar, but at least they aren't asking real procar prices. They're asking a lot for a "customized" bog-standard M1 when originality has more value, but not too far out of line with what a normal M1 would command.
Have you seen the car in person? I have my doubts that the sunroof is a "$20 e-bay" job, and though tacky and not "correct" the custom work doesn't look like it's slapdash. I'm only going by what I've seen in the pictures though.
