So at first I installed the EMU chips only since I wasn't concerned about the Vmax restriction, and got the impression that that was the only thing that the third chip did. I was very please with the Wokke chips and they have been a great improvement to the car.
Then I decided to install the third chip after hearing from Wokke that I would feel some improved throttle response and it wouldn't just eliminate the speed limiter.
Right afterwards I noticed that driving around the car is very sensitive while trying to maintain a steady speed. If I let off the gas just a tad I start getting quite a bit of engine braking so it feels like I'm either accelerating or decelerating and never at the speed I'm trying to maintain unless I'm really careful to modulate my foot. Its not severe but it gets quite annoying, especially on the highway. Every once in a while the Cruise control also hickups like this though it compensates quickly.
So has anyone else noticed this? I know most people probably install all the chips at once but it'd be nice to hear what peopel have experienced. I have the 4 speed AT btw.
Cheers
Malik
i read about another person who had that happening.
but i am not sure if it can be attributed to the chips.
but i know, if the dk are not in sync thye can cause this

What year is your Subaru, I mean 850? The early models had some issues with throttle response and there was a fix for this. Best advice would be to give Wolf a shout and tell him what you are experiencing. He is really good about having satisfied customers - could be an issue with the chips.
'93 850Ci - Mineralweiß Metallic
2001 740iL - Titansilber
ALPINA B7 -Alpinweiß III
...the price of cool ain't cheap!
Heh, didn't have my 850 when I started my account here
It's a '92.
This started happening right after I installed the throttle chip, everything worked very smoothly before with the EMU chips.
The reason I went to the forums first was just to ask if this was normal after installing these chips.
I suppose I could try putting back the stock chip but was a bit of a pain replacing that chip to begin with
I'll get in touch with Wokke and see what he thinks.
i had that sensitive throttle responce thing when i had issues with the MAF
Hey Hobz try schronizing the two throttles then get back to us.
Just follow these steps:
1. start car and put the shifter into 1st gear at the very bottom and keep it there!
2. accelerate until you reach 5K rpms
3. coast down to idle
4. repeat steps 2 and 3 again two more times
5. pull over and let the car idle for five minutes
You would be surpised how many problems that has solved.
Current - all are 6mt:

2004 Audi S4
2000 Audi A6 2.7T
Your welcome. I have my moments every now and then but that procedure can cause problems. I don't know how fast a 850 goes in first but my 750 went almost 50mph and it took a while to coast down to idle which pissed off the highway traffic around DC. Needless to say don't be surpised if you have a cop pull up behind you when the car is learning the new idle.

This procedure is intended to sync the throttle bodies or is it useful on a say.. 740?
Snapy throttle ?? i like that problem .Real problem is you have a auto and you need a 6 speed ,Dont think there will be a problem with our cars. Cant wait to get one!!!
I spank 6 speeds all the time, For free too!
Arrrgghh! (raised fist)
With all respect! The 6 speed is great when going against a stock automatic, Both with forced induction is a different story.
Letting the car roll on it's lowest power, No foot /Gas pedal involved! You should be pulled over soon after and the car should be idleing for 5 minutes to complete.
Yes, I am having the same problem with my EML chip. Not an improved throttle responce... a big distraction and pronounced jerky driving at low speeds / low RPM in town when in S3.
dear wolf
i have interest in putting some joy to my 840ci 97 i will like to install the chips can you help me in this matters?
Thanks
