Yes, this was the wrong thread to start with, I'm finding it absurd. There are many people and threads with valuable information, and constructive discussions and solutions elsewhere. Usually they are, but there will always be ones like this.

From one BMW driver who loves his car, learning about it, working on it, and discussing it, to another. I would like to welcome you to the forums, and hope you give another thread a chance.

Thank you and you are correct.
I've found a few posts of great interest and there are definately some experienced people here.

We own a Z8 and M5 that we are currently working on as show vehicles and a few people on this forum have helped with some electrical and performance upgrades so I'm not discouraged by the few nay-sayers.

What are the plans for the Z8? Hopefully it is kept close to stock.

We just had one here in our bay. Owner just picked it up. Black on Black/Red. Amazing little car!

We did as much as possible with out cutting the car or altering any mechanical parts.
The car can be changed back to 100% stock.

We added our new MBQ Premium speakers, Discus amps, 8" subs behind the seats and an aftermarket radio.

The car sounds great considering it is a convertable and only limited mods.

    It is red on red.

Beautiful car for sure and a lot of fun to drive.
I forgot to mention we also have an AMG G-Wagon which will get more mods.

That is fine. You can do whatever you want to the G-Wagon but not the Z8

Oh the subframe cutting or whatever the little debacle was to fit headers...

I will say though, a S2 Z8 is definitely fun!

No you cannot 'tap' me! hahahah

Certainly. Just let us know if you have any questions Glad to help.

We actually used to use MB Quarts once upon a time. We have some of the items still here in unopened boxes and in assorted condition.

I will take this opportunity to call you one final name. You are a shitty debater!

P.S. Pics of the 1949 car audio systems your family installed or it didn't happen. Don't trip, keep that car 'hard' yo.
Company was established in 1949, we did not move into car electronics until the the late 70's. I'm sure there are still people in the trade who did business with us, especially in Texas, where most of our sales were.

BTW, hitting hard is a term we use on the west coast to represent a audio system that is very loud. I never said anything about my car or anyone else's car being "hard" so stop putting words in my mouth.

You can make fun of my west coast accent all you want, we definitely make fun of you Texans all the time. "Yo" sounds more like East coast slang buddy. We talk normal here in Northern California.

I have to commend you BSW guys. You guys have a great business and niche in this industry. You have seemed to lock down the BMW owners and your service and knowledge justifies that.

Every time there is a technical troubleshooting question, you guys have very informative, complete, and thorough answers.

Usually when I browse through the forum for the technical questions and I see one of your techs participate in the thread, i just back out and look for another unanswered questions because you guys have always participated with lots of knowledge to present.

Not many know this, but I was one of the BSW keyboard commandos at one point in time as well

    This thread delivers

I didn't realize that the car knew the quality of the sub box that is installed in it.

Wow, all of the back and forth bickering, and this is all you have to add?

Not sure if I understand the logic behind your statement!! I don't usually seek my car's opinion before I install or modify something on it.

This makes no sense at all. You ears will know the quality of the box. I've taken subs out of prefab boxes, built another sealed box, and heard a world of difference.

Now if you would have posted like this in the first place, this would have been a pleasant debate. Opinions are always welcome. Stating your opinion as fact is not.

If you and the others really want to help educate the forum, you have to be objective and keep your personal opinions as just that - OPINIONS.

I don't like brand bashing no matter what brand it is.

But they've made it so easy over the years!!!!!!!!!!!

To give them SOME credit - I have no idea how much the ruining of MB Quart was their fault, RF did a good job of that for them before Maxxsonics picked them up.....

I think brand bashing can be a very slippery slope. As volatile as this market is right now, a brand that was great yesterday can become a little better tomorrow, and visa versa... Lines seem to be being bought and sold quite often. For a while it looked like Directed and Maxxsonics would be the owner of every brand name in car audio!

I don't think most of the points made were about brand bashing as much as they were about (1) frustration of a slipping industry, and cheap easily constructed options infringing on the pro installers jobs (2) educating as to the differences and options that are available. (3) some people taking things way to personally...

Obviously people get very passionate about audio. I think we are all best served to keep an open mind.

I think the next service I will offer is "professional assembly of $30.00 dollar enclosures"

    Crazy, Crazy thread.....

I don't really think RF did much to help nor hurt the PRODUCT. It was still same ole' MB Quart. There seem to have been some changes made since Maxxsonics taking the helm, but it kind of went off my radar at that point..

I agree totally, and I will refer you for the enclosure building.

I just wish that it would have been stated differently. (although the thread would not have been so much fun if it was)
