I wish the 12" wasn't sold out, unfortunate i was thinking of purchasing that one.
Off on a tangent where is 12v located in Chicago I live in the south suburbs and might want to get an install done.
Seems like I missed the boat as well Hopefully the inventory will be restocked in the near future, because I definitely need to get my hands on a 12" sub box.
I just thought I should say that up to page 5.. This is the best thread I've ever read on the internet!
I'm definitely getting one for my car.
I can't help myself.
Did anyone call this guy out on this? I stopped at page 6.
An engineering "tech" is NOT a Mechanical Engineer. I don't care who's lab your work in, a tech degree is not a BS in Engineering.
No offense but why do you "professional" box builders talk about it as if you've mastered some ancient secret trade that eludes the mere mortal? Are you making damascus steel or doing a basic volume calculation and trusting that the adhesive you use actually does what you've heard it will do?

Welcome to the forum. This was an interesting thread to say the least. If you got some time, read on. It gets continually interesting until the last few pages. Also please watch your language. This is a family show.
Thanks,
Tom
And for others interested in the enclosure, There is one stubborn 15" box that will not go. All the rest are gone. We do not sell many 15 inch speakers, so best offer takes it. - note, it can be used for a 12" if the airspace requirements are met and you want to modify.
Don't be a wuss, fiberglass it and save yourself some weight, trunk space, and learn something. Theres nothing thats less ballin then not being able to put something in the rear...
Man, some one got pissy in a hurry...
Doing it right is one thing, but car audio "specialists" are in the same category as racer boys. I'd rather blow my greenbacks on that steering pump i've been meaning to replace, than a gaudy stereo.
BMW= the Ultimate Driving Machine
the difference is...
blah blah blah blah blah blah
or
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
who gives a rats ass, its a great deal

I currently have a dual 10" ported box with two 10" Alpine Type-Rs, and I'd like to lighten the setup as much as possible without breaking the bank. When taking the subs/box out for auto-x, I can tell how ridiculously heavy it all is. I know a good deal of that weight is the subs, but the big ported box definitely doesn't help.
Would two of these enclosures fit in a decent arrangement in an E36 M3 coupe trunk? What is the optimal arrangement?
I plan on measuring it out myself also, but even then it's tough to tell without the boxes in front of me to maneuver around and test out different arrangements.
edit: Just read above and saw they're all gone Guess I'll be stuck with this elephant in the trunk.

I had to re-read it again, so much fun!
Glad I could provide some entertainment.
I also wanted to post that a member of this board bought my demo box with the woofer. I really like the set-up, but is better then letting it sit here on the shelf waiting for me to find a new home for it.
I did find a built 15" version while doing inventory the other day It needs a new home. PM me for a ludicrous deal
u think I could fit an 18 in it?
I just clicked on the link and its down?
same here... i got my credit card out for nothing!
