Question How much torque does your car make?

Well just think... the Porsche Cayenne Turbo makes 460ft-lbs at 2200rpm.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

Can still hate it can't we?

    Maybe even more so!

I wonder if that engine would fit in my car?

    I own nothing.
Doesn't the Viper have most of it's torque at 1700 rpms or something obscenely low, too?

EdIT: Bonneville -225lb. when running. when dead, makes no difference!!!!!
Maxima - 217lb. Fun motor. Shitty suspension.

That is an amazing torque curve. It's perfectly flat over almost it's entire working range!

When I first saw CG pictures of the Cayenne back in 2000, I thought it looked like a fish for some reason, but now that I seen one in person, they look much better.

Take the torque of the Cayenne Turbo, divide it by 4, and multiply the rpms by 2, and you have roughly the torque of my m42.

My last supra had a teeny tiny turbo in it, so it ran out of flow to make good hp pretty quick, but it made 400lb-ft of torque at 2,800 rpm. It was the wheel spin king!

one of the clay modelests at Porsche took his 996 model and let it melt in the sun.... WALAH - a new SUV. Insane motor... they just put it in the wrong vehicle.

I'm in the same boat as 325bEater... except my M42 sits in a car with 150 less pounds than an E30.

    ~218ft/lb @ 3500rpm

The thing I always notice about GM cars like the old Z34s etc is that they can wheelspin all day long, yet run out of steam immediately after that. Wheelspin on my car almost can't be invoked of idle with the wheels pointing forward.

We testdrove a silver Cayenne Turbo last weekend and I am sorry to admit, but it simply blows the doors off of ML55AMG.
The things that surprised me the most is its height. The Turbo one has adjustable air suspension that is controlled by a switch. On it's lowest setting, the car is only up to my chin. I am 6'1". It looks like Audi Offroad, rather than a big ass SUV. Accelerationwise it seemed quicker than my coupe, but it's hard too tell, because the Cayenne is 5,200 pounds. Yikes!
It's just music to my ears that this car has the same engine as Carrera Turbo. Mmmmm

Actually, the 911 Turbo has a flat six with a turbo... the Cayenne is a V8 turbo.. the Carrera GT has a V10 NA.. but yes, sounds fickin sweet! I love the Cayenne, doesn't hurt I built the car in 3D for a video game, it grew on me.

    I have 207 lb-ft @ 1800rpm. That's the beauty of a turbo motor though...

I'll admit that the Cayenne isn't the prettiest car around, but you have to respect it for what it is.

    1. it makes more power stock than most of us could dream about
    2. it off roads better than any car out there
    3. it's a porsche.

All and all, its a pretty good deal.

Cayenne Turbo actually handles better than most regular cars out there. It's probably using the same engine as in the RS6.

anyway, mine puts out 332lb-ft tq at 4400rpm and 90% available from 2300-6100rpm redline
