No horn, no steering wheel buttons, airbag light on

Its been this way since I got it, the power adjustment does work on the steering wheel and I have replaced the ignition switch. Plz help I'd love to have a horn and be able to use cruise control!

Probably the slip ring if nothing on the steering wheel is working...

I made sure the ring was still connected which it is, but your saying the ring itself could be bad? sounds expensive and hard to replace

Brand new, 1000 CCA too, but i think im still runnin on the origional alternator which may be the reason why I have an electrical ghost. Already replaced ignition switch btw car is a 1995 167k

I'd get your alternator load tested. They do it for free at most auto parts chains.

Definately the the clockspring/spiral cable. Disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes for the srs system to loose voltage then remove the airbad, then the steering wheel. The clock spring is right there.

    145 cylinders of power
sounds like the slip ring ribbon is broken. Remove the steering wheel and the slip ring to inspect it.

Whoa. Old thread. Iggy switch is pretty well known on the forum now. Must not have been then. Q's video covers this really well.

Bumping this up. I had the same issue on my 2001 740iL
and the problem was an ignition switch.
