I need help to install M5 folding mirrors

I got mirror and module package from Jo, tried to install them this morning, everything was fine till the last step.
They folded few times, but after I put everything back, they didn't work anymore.
As you see in the following pics.
I solder the WHITE wire (from module) to MID's BROWN wire.
YELLOW wire (from module) to MID's RED/BLACK wire. (I know the instruction says put it with RED/GREY wire, but it never fold, then I tried R/B, it worked few times.)
And the BLACK wire(from switch) to the VIOLET.
The 2nd pic is for the switch. I connected YELLOW wire in the middle and BLACK wire went to the last pin.
Also, I changed #25 fuse to 10A cuz it blew.
PPl who already installed them plz help~~~~~~~~!

I'll pull out my climate control tomorrow, but from what I remember, the brown wire is the swtiched ignition wire, it provides 12v when key is on. The violet should be the constant power. And the red should be ground. I would get the multimeter and check the wires out. Otherwise check your fuses again, I think I had another fuse burn out (close to the end, around 40th fuse?).

I had the same problem i had to switch the black and yellow wires that go to the switch around. Try it see if it works. I also had the problem of my radio staying on with the ignition off. The black and yellow to the switch just had to be switched. goodluck

also try to check the blue and white wires on your door...maybe the taps got loose...if the taps aren't doing their job...electrical tape would be a good substitute.

Jo, can you help me to confirm what do these wires for?
1st, the white wire (from module)
2nd, the yellow wire (from module)
3rd, the black wire (from switch)

    Here is my guess,
1st, ignition switch wire which gets signal when key is on.
    2nd, constant power wire.
3rd, ground wire for the switch.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

This is why when I finally get M5 mirrors, I'll just get myself the M5 window cluster rather than messing around with the auto-fold stuff.
Possibly, maybe, conceivably, thinking about getting back into another E39. Hide your daughters

jo .. i must say this is way too complex .. i thought it would be similar direct plug and play like the m5 window module ..

i have the cluster so i don't have to cut through one of those pop up panels. but with that cluster, only your left side will work. you'll still need another module for the right to fold. so instead of spending $450, you get this module at $80 to accommodate.

tom, i sent ya the instructions prior though...it doesn't state the process was plug and play. it has a level of difficulty, but a handy guy like you would be able to tackle this! =)

Tried calling him, I'll get you the exact answers when he calls back. From the sound of it, I think you are right. But I have to confirm. Damn it, I wanna install my module now to do it first hand. My radio is stuck there...the tiny allen bolt is loose threaded and has to be dremeled out. I don't have dremel tools =(...

to be honest with you .. if i knew that you had to go threw all this trouble .. i would have passed .. the M5 module maybe $350 .. but its pretty straight forward .. I am not going to takle this by myself because I will f it up somehow .. I'll have the boys at Bimmerclinic take a look ..

also, what makes the level of the module's installation stiffer is because of the ignition coordination. the OEM one will only fold manually. these one's have to be tapped to the ignition so that it can fold automatically when you turn the key.

anyhow, i know bimmerclinic will get done in no time! =) i still think you can too! =)

Let me tell you it took me a couple hours to install the module and there is nothing like starting you car and the mirrors folding out automatically or when you turn the car off the mirrors fold in. My friend has a 335 and he has to hit the button to fold it in. The trouble is well worth it. Plus Joe has the best tech support/customer service ive ever done buisness with. A+ to joe and A+ to his service.

Well, then how did you wire the MID to module wires?

Autofolding mirrors is soooo dope... Well worth the headache once its done, eh?
    Rules to live by:
    - Fast, reliable, cheap. You can only have two.
    - Do it right, or do it twice.
    - BMW: Just because you can afford to buy one, that doesn't mean you can afford to own one.

hey another problem could be that the coil inside the module(yes i did open it!), could get stuck, causing mirrors not to fold. this happened to me today(i just hit module), is there a sound coming from the module?
