Is there a permanent fix for stuck / jammed CD changer?

My CD changer gets stuck while changing CDs quite often. Is there anything I could file/break off or maybe add to the changer to make it work more reliably?

no, just take the CD changer cartraidge and throw it against a wall or throw it at a baby carriage and go buy a new one for 20 bucks.

THey sell a fix kit at most car audio stores. I think it's marketed as a "replacement" or "new" cd changer.

    Gac's the name. Seriously.

I drive a Metallic Fern Green 1998 BMW M3 Convertible with a hard top. I just rolled over 67k, and I rate the current appearance of the car as 7.8/10, pending repair of some trim pieces. I rate the drive condition as a 7.1/10 until I figure out why my clutch gets into a "slippy mood" evey few months. It is bone-dry stock, except for a modern head unit and slotted/dimpled rotors and ceramic pads. I like it this way. It is awesome.

    That is all. Carry on.

People still use CD changers instead of just upgrading to an aftermarket deck that will either play MP3's or us an AUX In? Weird..

I wired an Aux in to my factory CD43. Overrides the CD changer when a device is plugged in. Pretty sweet setup. all DIY.
