Aftermarket Head Unit install pics please..

Looking for pisc of any aftermarket e39 head unit installs. There seems to be several different plates for mounting HU's in e39's and I want a single DIN one that looks as stock as possible. If anyone has pics, please post them...

    MUCH appreciated!!

Double is honestly the way to go

If you have a single, get this one

Credit to whomever that is. I wish I knew about that dash kit when I got mine, I don't have the 2nd slot for storage/equalizer so my setup is UGLY.

I'm trying to sell my single-din deck so I can get a double-din or possibly just revert back to my original deck with a high/low converter (something I'm trying not to do), single-DIN radio's just don't look good in the E39 due to it's wide dash area.

The whole rack and pinion thing is stupid, they feel the same.

that is an OEM part. It's like 75 bucks IIRC. I originally was gonna modify it for my double din. Ask blacksapphire, he either has it or used to. I think that's even his pic.

I would try your local stereo shops these things only run about $15~

There was a thread on this guys system and where he got the dash kit but I can't locate it at this time.

if you look on realoem.com you can find the part number, and jnyost is a user on here that gives great prices on oem parts.

Here is a picture of mine (without the screen flipped up), a great way to ruin an E39 dash.

no prob. BTW it's only under the EURO parts on realoem. Any place that can get oem bmw parts should have no problem getting it for you, but i'm letting you know just in case. And supposedly bavauto sells it too.
