looks pretty good from my angle!
“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28

Remember that this is not reupholstered in leather just yet. We are solely talking about the shape of this minus some finishing work.

Ok special offer time, the first group buy of 12-15 people pay $25 as a non refundable deposit. Then $150 for the actual pod itself and shipment for the pod. Bringing the total to $175 + shipping, I am doing this to get things rolling. This is a cheap price for a covered Zoran pod! First 12-15 people who accept these details are in the group buy. Then i need 2-5 weeks to complete these gauge pods and will ask for the remaining money plus shipping costs. They will then be shipped off!

I'm pretty sure you'll need to show a finished pod (with leather and photographed with adequate lighting) before people commit.

Aren't the Z3 dash's covered in vinyl? I cannot find any local souces for black leather, only tan/brown, so i had to order from the internet. Would it be suitable to cover this in a black vinyl rather than black leather or a black imposure leather?

Some vinyl is very convincing. If prepared right, I don't see it as an issue. The "grain" should match OEM though.

More like painted, or color impregnated plastic; very soft and gummy plastic.

The dash looks like leather, so the concensus seems to be that the pod needs to match that (ie. not just a painted pod).

Those pics make me cringe Randy!

Anytime i think about drilling into my pretty estoril dash I am reminded of how much a new dashboard costs...

Which leads me to thinking about these threads on custom gauge pods. Is there any reason not to make a two gauge pod on the left side of the instrument cluster (taking out the topside vent in the process)?
Some ladies like a hand-held. I prefer to drive mine.
