New batch of pictures with my polarizer

All these were taken with my Canon 350D, Sigma 24-60 f/2.8, and Quantaray Polarizer. Most of the farm pictures are almost out of camera with limited dodging and burning. The M3 is highly edited.

would you recommend the Quantaray Polarizer.... now that you have played with it? I need a polorizer really bad, but just cant see spending over $120 for the hoya's... unless it really is that much better and going to help that much more!

plus i thought it was just like a filter, and was put on and go... i didn't know they were hard to use and needed tons of adjusting and know how... have you found this to be the case? needed to make tons of adjustments or soemthing?... maybe that was a ND filter that was supposed to be used on really sunny days i was reading about or something... if so then my bad... i just want blue skys (instead of white or blown out) when im taking landscape photos...

It seems fine to me, but I haven't used a B&W or Hoya to compare it with. The filter itself is really two pieces where the rear piece screws onto the lens and you turn the front piece. By turning that piece, you can adjust the affect the filter has. Also, the filter will have the most pronounced effect on the sky when the lens is perpendicular to the sun (not looking into or away). A graduated neutral density filter will also help you achieve dark blue skies. However, I have not used one of those.

the pictures have a nice feel to them. but the composition needs work.

I just tried my hand a polarizer filter this weekend, and frankly - I don't know how I ever shot outdoors without it. Mind you, I just bought a cheap Best Buy brand to play around with it, but I'm EXTREMELY impressed with the results...

the brand does matter. my sunpak CPL is nothing compared to my B+W CPLs i replaced all my filters with B+W and am very very glad i did. it actually does make a difference. if teh UV filter is cheap glass whats the point of shooting with a $1,300 lens

Well, when I find the money tree growing in my backyard, I'll be sure to buy some B&W filters. Until then, I'll live with my el cheapo quantaray. My lens was only $189 to begin with.

i spent $70 on a hoya 77mm circ polarizer. WELL worth the money spent. i have a shoddy sunpack i got at best buy for a different lens. but it wasnt worth a damn compaired to my hoya.

if you dont have one. id highly recommend getting one for your walk around lens.

heres a shot with it.

granted its edited a bit. but it REALLY helps get the sky to pop. though you wont notice much on overcast days. it really helps with reflections on the cars.
