Just curious here guys. Its supposed to be an automatic, but doesnt it look like it has a shift boot?..automatics dont have shift boots do they? Sorry for the bad pic..just looking for opinions.
You can put a manual shift boot and knob on an automatic car. But that is a really crapy picture to judge from.

yes..very bad pic I agree
My auto has a shift boot, but from that pic I can't tell. I would guess auto though.

I agree... it looks like an auto...
Looks manumatic to me =\
Auto cleverly hidden with frame angle.
Give the guy who took the picture a good slap.
Angle and just how it looks makes it appear to be an auto in park
autotragic.......

Lever is too long to be a stick shift.
It looks like an automatic
Definitely auto, it's all in-line unlike the H config of a manual.
this pic looks familiar. is it a craigslist find? if it is, i think its a scam.
I would go with auto.
Def. an Auto. You can see the faint image of the Gear selections to the left of the boot.
that doesnt even look like its manual.
I'm actually going to go against the grain and say its a manual. I think the "PRND" things people are seeing are actually the window switches.... The shift boot looks too big to be an automatic....
That and the pic is from an e36, and so I found a pic of an e36 auto that illustrates my thinking....
it really depends on which car the OP is talking about. My guess is that it's from a 5 series auto.
Ummm...that is clearly from an E36??? Can you not notice the similarity between your E36 and this one
I am going to vote for manual here. If you go to Google Images and trype BMW E36 Interior, you will see a lot of pics of manual cars...and that boot looks awfully like a manual. If the car is standard, I dont think the auto came with a boot...
Look at this pic of a manual E36
