1989 750il No start condition- anti theft?

    Hello All, I just bought a 1989 750il

    Here is the situation:
I looked at the car about 4 months ago, and it was running awesome. It had some other issues (rear hydraulic line leak etc). However the owner didn't like my offer so the car sat on and off for the last 4 months.. I am told the car ran last week when he moved it to mow his lawn. Today I went to pick it up and it wouldn't start. It seems that recently it wouldn't run with the doors closed- something in the alarm system getting set off. When I got there and I got in and tried to start it the 4 way flashers came on when I turned the key on.. To turn them off I have to push the flasher button twice (once on and once off again). No amount of locking or unlocking the doors with the key will cancel it. Now I can hear fuel pump(s) run when I turn the key on, and it cranks fine, but it kicks and tries to start but will not run (sounds like fuel starvation)...

    Ideas?

I have removed the battery to charge it and to reset the modules and it still does the same thing....
