Trying to install them only caused me frustration. The build quality and precision is terrible, its so bad that I considered running car without handle gaskets at all. Its like you are trying to fit gaskets from some other car..

After finally installing them, they dont look very good, too much space around. I ll leave them on for now.

I ll buy these ones next time. I hope they are better quality and preferably made in japan.

Conclussion - Never buy ebay handle gaskets from thailand.
Resumane I can vouch for shogun's gaskets. They are top quality, perfect fit and great price. Once I worked out how to do the first it only took 5 minutes to finish the rest. Made a huge difference to the handles operation as well.

You won't go wrong using any of shoguns products!

Thanks, already sent out to GA by airmail.

Here instructions how to for the Z3:
Here is the port to access the push plate, on the passenger side door:

Remove with a knife. You can see that I really mangled the plastic trying to use a little flathead screwdriver before I got out the knife. It looks like you can get under the tabs and pop this piece off easily, but mine required a lot more force than I expected. Don't scratch up your trim! On the driver's side, I used just the knife and it came out cleanly.
    http://lh3.ggpht.com/__Gdon7aNTkg/S-...0/IMG_1016.JPG
Open! The plate that releases the door handle surround is on the right (outer) side in this hole. Reverse that for the driver's side. A flashlight really helps here.
    http://lh5.ggpht.com/__Gdon7aNTkg/S-...0/IMG_1017.JPG
I used an allen wrench for the "push" part of the job:
    http://lh6.ggpht.com/__Gdon7aNTkg/S-...0/IMG_1020.JPG
Now you can remove the trim piece, and clean out the gunk while you're in there.
    http://lh4.ggpht.com/__Gdon7aNTkg/S-...0/IMG_1021.JPG
Here's a fancy tool I made for pulling the plate back after adding the new gasket! The latch has a lip that is open on its left and bottom sides (right and bottom on the driver's side door). Again, use a flashlight.

All done. Before & after shots:
    http://lh6.ggpht.com/__Gdon7aNTkg/S-...G_1027.jog.JPG
This is probably the perfect tool for removing the handle cover - a paint can opener. It can do both the "push" and "pull" parts of the job.

Just thought I'd bump this thread to say what a fantastic service & product from Erich here. Received my package this week and just finished fitting to E32 740iL and looks like new. Fitted perfectly first time, no stretching, heating, pulling etc. to fit properly, just went straight on easy as. Longest part of the job was cleaning all the crap off the paintwork before being able to reattach the handle surrounds with the new gaskets. Take away the cleaning part and I'd say if all four handles take longer than 10 minutes total to do, then you aren't following the instructions properly.

Thanks Erich for a great product BMW themselves don't provide (alone as a separate piece) and for the prompt posting.

    Erich,

I installed the door handle gaskets on my 97 M3 sedan last night. Parts fit perfect and they were easy to install. I just ordered another set today for my 98 M3. Great product and seller!!!

HELPFUL HINT: The tool you get when you buy paint to open paint cans works perfectly to pull the tab inside the door back out to secure the handle trim piece.

I just wanted to give a recommendation for seller Shogun. His products are fantastic and he is a pleasure to work with. I've ordered and replaced a set on an e34, and just ordered a set for an M roadster.
    Thanks Shogun!
