I'm buying a 97 318i sedan (w/M44 engine) in just a few hours. One thing I know I need to fix/adjust is this.

When you "blip" the throttle, the engine RPMs seem to hang-up and don't drop immediately. I know 16-Valved engines loved to be revved, but the RPMs "should" drop off right as soon as the throttle is let off.

Other than this issue, the engine performs flawlessly.

Past experience tells me that this is a throttle body/butterfly setting.

If it is, how do I adjust it properly.
