    LS Swap and ABS

    Preliminary investigation question.

If I do a LS swap, can the ABS system work stand alone? I do not need or want to use the DME/adaptor setup. The car is track only an I would prefer to remove all the harnesses and rewire only what I need.

Is there a stand alone aftermarket ABS controller that won't rip the budget?

The abs will work fine without the DME, no standalone system needed.

What about all the cross talking between the abs/asc module and the DME? Do any of the connections to the DME need to be grounded or shorted?

Wait, I didn't need to rewire my ABS when I lengthened(sp?) it?

If it's got wires, then wouldn't that mean that it needs to be wired up?

That's my thought. The ABS and ASC is controled by the same module. It could be that the ASC needs the DME since it's more associated with throttle. I don't know for sure hence the question.

If it has Asc, I recommend swapping to a limited slip rearend from a earlier 3 series, asc will not work. But you can have working abs. Well the good news is new age is working on making the dsc work with ls2 in our e46 kit, so we have no more problems like this .
ShaggsM3 your all set with a 95, your abs will work fine.

ASC Traction control is non issue. I just want the ABS to keep from flat spotting the race rubber. Have you done a swap with a car that has ASC/ABS. That would be M3 or MZ3 in 98 and 99 and 2000 MZ3. Maybe 97, not sure.
