Do I need a new Flex Disc? There are numerous cracks on it but not they are not deep. Just wondering if it is normal to have some cracks or should I change it right away. Both sides have cracks but none of them are around the bolt holes.
I'm trying to track down the clunk noise.

I think they go from that stage directly to spaghetti!
It needs to be changed, though that doesn't look bad enough to cause your clunks.

It looks as if your flex disc has been replaced before, but the nuts are still original. If you replace it yourself, be sure to order new nuts, as they are one-time use.
Don't forget to preload the center support bearing when reinstalling (4-6mm).
Good luck tracking down the 'clonk' noise. Few among the many who have it have ever been successful at finding and/or resolving it. Just to set your mind at ease, the biggest problem with the noise is that it's as annoying as hell.
Please let us all know what you find.
Where is the best place to buy flex disc? And how much to spend? I see some twice the cost of others.
Thanks
FYI - when I changed the clutch on my Coupe, I found that I had to drop the tail of the tranny 2-3" so the center pin on the drive shaft would come free of the tranny. What this really means is that it would be simpler to do the guibo after you drop the center exhaust section and get the car high enough to drop the tranny a bit.
The other trick is to use the tranny mount ears and support to hold a box wrench for you. I used a bit of wire to hold the box wrench to the tranny mount so I could use two hands on the torque wrench. It's pretty tight in there and dropping the exhaust really makes it soooo much easier.

I have already dropped the exhaust to have a look at the center support (looks ok) so it will stay off for the flex disc install.
I ordered mine from Bav Auto ($80), and at my request Ken has now added the self locking nuts to the website.
I have also ordered UUC tranny mounts so they will be changed at the same time.

I love my car.
how often does the flex disc break?
or is it just hit or miss?
Yes, that is the part number.
You don't want it to break. If it does, the driveshaft is going to trash itself and everything around it(exhaust, floor, shifter, transmission mounts, etc.). I don't know how common a catastrophic failure happens, but the extra slack/noise in the driveline that a failing guibo causes isn't good either.
My car has 102000 and I just changed the disc last week. The old disc looked pretty bad.
It only had 29k when I bought it in December of 2005. I drive it daily, but I still only put about 7000 miles on it per year, including road trips.
There are a lot of components on these cars (really, all cars) that deteriorate with age just as much as with use.
Anything rubber, the soft-top, anything the sun touches.
