Just looked out the window at her. I don't have to go to work today. I work 4 10hr shifts. Letting her enjoy her day off. Normally she is my daily driver, while my 03 Grand Cherokee 4.7 HO stays in the garage waiting on snow.
My pal from Germany is still driving mine, so I'm still missing it...![]()
I took mine out of DD service and will occasionally drive it until the knock in the engine can be fixed by a motor rebuild...

I changed the Tensioner for the timing chain, now it doesn't sound like a diesel anymore!
Installed studs, replaced a cracked stainless steel line (my fault), and replaced pads and rotors (HT-10 front / Blue rear)

I miss my E30...but today I'm painting the grills on my E36 black.........![]()
started prepping and wiring my smilies to be installed tommorrow after work
Installed a new deck and some new pioneer speakers in the rear and on the kick panels.
Installing a woofer tomorrow.
Drove the car to work then used my lunch break to put my euro plate on and admire the beauty.
Pined for it a little bit as I drove the Jetta out of the garage to go to work.
Gonna see about R&Ring the dash this evening to take care of a couple of niggling little issues...temperature gauge needle has the jimmy legs, and I want to see if this OBC that I picked off of a 5-series will work in my 325ic. While I'm at it, I should add an aux input, shouldn't I?

PS-- I like this thread. I like to see what people do with their E30s day-to-day...not like the big build-up threads, just the little things.

Clay bar'd and waxed it. Finally got rid of the swirl marks in the paint. Unfortunately it's still not drivable since I need new rear shocks.

WOWI finally changed my timing belt today!
Just bought the car last month and had a about 700 miles in the cockpit, but every time I drove it the timing belt issue would worry me and mar the experience.
Also R&R the water pump, the old one didn't sound good and had slop in the shaft, and put in new V belts. Did it all in 5 hours under a patio umbrella, 95 today, on the gravel driveway.
A tip: Put the Alt belt on the fan pulley before the bolts, but note the holes only line up one of two ways (I didn't knotice that till the third bolt wouldn't go in)
I don't think it's my imagination but it runs a lot smoother and just feels tighter! Now I can feel comfortable to take it over 4000 RPM!And put that new chip in that's suppose to be here tomorrow!
Then, new shocks, and I'll be highway road trip worthy!!!

to fix the idle/thermostat problem.
$127.50 for diagnosis...predicting another 1k into this car...
PS...he won't even touch it till next Tuesday.
took off the old starter, sad day when you gotta get a ride to work and come home to your bimmer staring at you with her four sad eyes
Fixed the rear strut mount problem so now my suspension upgrades are complete (for now, I want to see how stiff it is before I put the new sway bars on). Can't wait to try it out.
Matt
me and a friend change the oil, oil filter, and tranny fluid
Installed the other car's OBC, got everything completely back together before I realized the freaking light bar in the "new" OBC was blown.
So today, I replaced the OBC light bar, tightened up the ground nut on the instrument cluster, and installed an AUX input and garage door opener switch (the last two on the same blank plate).
I'll drive her to work tomorrow. Been missing her.

I put my front struts from my old 325i (now parts car) into my 320i so I can use the shorter shocks in them and put the spring pads back in the back to stop the springs wobbling about whilst jacked up to get my car legally on the road..
Now onto adjusting the low beam since they are too high ......
Then onto the CSB/guibo replacement, Then fix central locking, blower, install watertemp / oil temp / oil pressure gauges and find a home for them..
And THEN once thats done I can clean my old white 17" rims and get them back on the e30 and get the basket weaves off.
THEN I shal get some peace with this thing and drive it for once!
Took out the catch can because Kobalt has dumb engineers.
This design, updated I think but not sold in stores, is same as Husky. Whats wrong with it? It leaks! The valve doesn't work. I think they fudged the manufacturing and make it out of spec so the valve is worthless and the catch CAN is worthless because it doesn't catch anything because it CAN'T.
The valve on my catch can is even worse. I opened up the metal valve to look at the insides and how it works or how it didn't work... I glued it up already so I can't get any pictures but basically there was no way that any liquid could be held by the valve . So essentially its open all the time regardless. Window sealant and super glue made the valve into a hunk of metal and I'll just have to unscrew the catch to dump the fluid every time then... What a pita. Then again it will never reach the top anytime soon with the current driving distance so I have nothing to worry about.

i.... started it for the first time in 2 weeks. it needed a boost. then, i pulled out some alarm speaker it had, to try to use it for the CB radio i'm installing. got my tach working, gave up on the MPG guage, and then parked it for the night.
