Good luck! I think there may have been a different style strut on earlier model cabrios, so definitely take a look before you order. If you see that ball-andsocket-style lower connector then it's the same one I listed.

My E30 weekend was frustrating. I replaced my windshield washer check valve because the old one was completely plugged and nonfunctional. After an hour of cursing at old clamps, fishing uncooperative tubing, and getting everything together I still don't have functioning washer nozzles.

Looks like the nozzles themselves are plugged

    It's always something lol

e38s have heated windshield washer nozzles if you feel so inclined to pick some up at a junkyard and wire them in.
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...

    That's 5 hp PER nozzle.

Replaced folding top struts - thanks CzarNick for the great tutorial - works like a champ!

Cleaned & greased hood hinges and latch points - no more squeak, and it opens easy now. Had been a hard enough pull that, combined with the squeaking, I was afraid something was gonna bust.

Got the windshield replaced, along with putting in a new chrome trim strip. The trim strip was black coated when I got the car; the black coating was cracking and coming off dirty with every wash. I think the original trim strip was chrome.

Removed rear license plate frame. Replaced mounting studs & screws.

Registered for the E30 Picnic this Sunday at Marymount in Parkland WA. Looking forward to meeting fellow E30 enthusiasts!

Installed a strut tower brace to reduce roll and body flexing, verts are very flexy and this fixed the problem.

Nice pics of the strut tower brace. What make & model is that brace? I see it isn't adjustable - did it fit right off, or did it take some persuasion?

I'm getting ready to add the same, and an X brace underneath, and a rear brace if anyone makes it for the vert. For pretty much the same purpose: add stiffness and (hopefully) improve safety or crash worthiness.

    Thanks Bob!

The installation wasn't too bad although it fought me a bit, had to raise the front to flex the body and got it to fit in a few minutes. If you don't have a brace I highly recommend one you can feel the difference immediately after installation. I searched for a rear brace with no results, the vert mechanicals are in the way so that's a big obstacle in the way of installing one.

An adjustable brace will go on much easier. I got my brace through ebay here's the listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-powder...72.m2749.l2649

Brake line power flush and new reservoir grommets.

Also got a new-to-me strut tower brace added (a "souvenir" from my shop's old E36 racing days):

Had a hard time determining how much of the improvement this made is real, and how much is wishful thinking. Does not make sense to me how much better this car seems to handle with such a simple addition.

E30Garage, thanks for advice re: your experience. I've got plans to add a skid plate, X-brace, and butt brace from Racing Skids next month - will let you know how it goes.

Even if you can't verify improvement, I'm jealous. Great addition to an e30. I've been wanting one for my cabrio.

Swapped cigarette lighter receptacles as the orange illumination ring broke on the 91. Put the 1990 vert up for quick sale:

Great price on the Garagistic X brace!

I cleared my cart at Garagistic, just picking up the clutch pedal stop and the fancy-ass light-up BMW key blank.

Also installed the seat shock springs I'd picked up at E30 Picnic. Such a treat to adjust the seats without stopping the car and getting out to manhandle them into place. Seat heights other than all-up or all-down are another bonus. Not to mention that time the seat dropped in weather and traffic - disoriented me to the point where I drove over a low divider, was lucky to not cause drive train damage. From a safety standpoint, the new seat shocks are worth it for that alone.

I'm experiencing the same issues as you, where can I buy these seat shock springs? Part numbers?

E30Garage - looks like a good source. I got mine from username rzmoser at r3vlimited forum - looks like rzmoser has the same source as the weebly guy.
jeffnhiscars at r3v also sells them - he uses different strengths and labels them accordingly. He also sells cabrio top and lid shocks, another must-have wear item for us 'vert folks.

I installed the garagistic X brace on my E30, it's a very nicely built X brace powder coated black, new bolts were included, a thirty minute install, I highly recommend this.
