I like the red and smoke tails you did. Looks good. Thought about doing that but my car is red.
Replaced the three remaining short runs of fuel injection-rated hoses in the fuel pump area on the 91 318i. Finished painting and sanding a salvage yard M20 intake manifold (two cans VHT flat black engine enamel), and painting/sanding an M20 valve cover (one can VHT black wrinkle paint), with the finished products looking quite like psy4s post #4279 in this thread.

Looking good Larry!!! I'm sure you get more looks on this car than your 2012 E92.
Sent from my DROID RAZR
I continued to wait for mine
E30's, The Ultimate Driving Machine
Took her for he first drive in two years
No. Found on ebay classified.
Went to the salvage yard yesterday, as there were a couple E30s on the lot (that's a rarity down here). I was able to get a central locking control unit for the 86 325e. I swapped it out in the car today and I now have a functional locking system. I found that the driver's rear door and the passenger front don't lock/unlock with the rest, so I'll be going out to the yard again to pick up some actuators. Guess it's time to source that keyless lock/unlock unit now.
While on the yard, I was also able to score a few more tools for my BMW tool kit. I'm only missing the pliers now.
Need a shift boot?
Looking to buy shift boot frames, PM if you have one to sell
I don't think so Cletonius, I remember both e30s being automatics. When I go in the morning, I'll look for you though. I did manage to get a couple black leather ebrake boots and handles from an e34 and a 7 series (don't know the chassis ID on those).
I tested out my steering today in my 1988 BMW 325is....
Almost ready to fire up the ix for the first time since march. Just gotta finish up the cooling system.
Bitch tube wasn't such bitch. Piece O' cake actully.
I hope it fires, my back is done for the next 3 or 4 days.
Except for coolant bleeding and splashguard/front tires/hood reinstallation, changed the timing belt, tensioner, cap/rotor/plugs, v-belts, intake manifold/gaskets, fuel injector o-rings, valve cover/gasket/rubber plugs, and the small maze of coolant hoses on the son's 90 vert.
June 25, 2013 update: finished the job.

Went to order a new fuel pump, ended up getting the entire assembly, plus a few other go-fast bits.......
I had a heater core leak on Saturday. As a result, steam and hot coolant were steaming out the air ducts in the cabin and the driver's side floor was flooded.
I have already removed the driver's seat and vacuumed the carpet(?). The next day I removed the dash to gain access to the air ducts and the heater core housing and because my dash had 3 tears I decided to replace it. I have already bought another dash in mint condition.
Tomorrow I will remove the passenger seat, the carpet and the heater core.
Also I will remove the engine thermostat, because I think it stuck closed and caused all this mess.
