Inspired by the TDI club thread of a similar name. Post what you did. Anything goes, as long as you did it to your E30!
I'll start: Changed the oil and filter. Found slivers of aluminum on my oil pan bolt...nice. Didn't torque the bolt to spec, because I was afraid it would just strip completely. So I think I've got some problems there.
Rotated the tires. Drove back and forth to the store with the top down!

Mein anderes Auto ist auch deutsch.
tried to start it, jumped the battery, drove it a couple miles and thats it
Started to connect the slave cylinder to the gearbox on the M50 conversion. It will be tight if I use the stock E30 clutch hose, but it may work.
Also, finished the basic wiring and only need to mount the ECU and fab some kind of grommet for the firewall. I also need to mount and protect the relay holder somewhere near the aft rear part of the engine compartment.

I may be the one that has CARS (Chronic Automotive Restoration Syndrome) but my wifes the one that suffers.
My son and I have been finishing up the late model bumper swap on his 85 325is. It is actually an 85 325e with the complete drivetrain from my 88 325is. Last week, I helped him install Bilsteins and an H&R Sport Spring setup. It's been an E30 centric summer so far.

Still trying to gather up some more $$$ before I begin some preventative maintenance/modding...

Drove it with it running 95% of the time . . .

I had a great day with my girl! Drove it for the 1st time up into the mountains. My two boyz (16-19) have been camping with friends since Thursday near Brainard Lake. Took a back road, Nelson Road, to Lefthand Canyon Road up thru Ward to the campsite. (See Map) Then took them to lunch in Allenspark via the scenic "Peak to Peak" highway 72/7, great lunch and filled up a 5 gal jug with sweet mountain spring water for them.
The car was running and sounding Great at 9000 feet going up and down the long climbs and declines, while maintaining a respectable speed in the corners, actually better then it felt after getting back to a mile high. Commented to the boyz how it sounded like a plane engine, (no rear muffler, just straight pipe to the bumper), ZZ replied "Yea it does, I'm expecting to hear air sirens of warning to a bombing" Big Grin! Amazing diff to the sound at 9000 feet, canyons walls and guardrails reverberating the sound or air pressure difference at 9000 feet. ??? A little of both I bet. And it was almost chilly at 9000 feet, 97 when I got back to mile high.
Gonna R&R thermostat (w/ timing belt R&R), should I replace with a cooler thermo? 80 is oem, 75 and 70? is available. ???
Great Day of doing 100 miles with the bimmer and seeing my boyz!

Hooked up xm radio and spent 3 hours putting the zender spoiler on. Tommorow, adjust lifters.
Drove it. That's the best thing to do to an e30. :-)
Oh, and I replaced a taillight bulb.
A couple weeks ago it was the aux fan, new V belts, and new tensioner brackets for the AC compressor and PS pump.

Dang dude! I was just in Longmont yesterday with my family, driving back toward KC from a vacation.
We camped down near Nederland (Kelly-Dahl campground) with our two kids (5-7). Cruised the fully loaded e46 Touring up past Ward, through Allenspark, etc. to spend a couple days in Estes Park with the in-laws (yeah, I know ... Estes ain't my fave.)
Love your neck of the woods something serious.

Was actually Saturday. Had to jump start it, disconnected trunk light which was causing issues. Took it for a drive on the Ocean Drive in Newort, you know, to make sure it ran ok and charged back up. Gave it a nice wash and cleaned the leather interior. Took my date to the Polo match in Portsmouth later that afternoon. It was a great day to have a vert.
It sat in the garage today (I drove the e46 to work), but on Saturday it got new tranny mounts and on Sunday I started cleaning and sanding the front valance to get ready to re-paint it.

I reassembled everything from my timing belt change, only to find out that there's coolant leaking from the general vicinity of the water pump. Yeah, I was pissed.
