ordered a driveshaft adapter so we could use our stock small flange driveshaft with the newer large flange transmission. they come to roughly 100 bucks from everywhere that sells them so I went with the e30garage in norway

Proceeded painting my bottlecaps winterset.
I have three wheels in the primer now. Still in doubt about what color to paint them.
Car is diamantschwarz, and I’m leaning towards getting diamantschwarz or otherwise something very dark grey for them.
Thoughts are always welcome
The car is a stock looking touring.

its ok if you mess up. just paint strip and repaint.
I had basket weaves with white and another set with gold for my red 89 325i back in the day. I would swap them depending on how I felt. I had the grey ones also and normally ran those because the wife said the red looked like ghetto wheels and the white just didn't match

Some pics..
Before:
Lots of sanding, degreasing, multiple layers of primer, multiple layers of Diamantschwarz metallic and a couple of clear coats later:
Same story, but including a new OEM sticker on it:
End result:
Leaning into the car, not actually mounted to get an idea of how it will look.
I've only finished one wheel so far.
Not too sure if I like it yet, but I like it enough to just finish them all and see what happens. The other three are in primer now.
Makes me think I should fit my black tinted rear lights I have lying around somewhere to match te wheels, but I don't want to murder this car out![]()
New pads and rotors on front and back for the vert this weekend..

Quick job, to secretly freshen up a friend's E30, which is rotting away in the front yard of another friend of mine.
I can't stand to see it getting more dirty and messy (has been parked for ~ 3 years now), so we're going to fix it up and get it roadworthy again.
This might be a nice start to motivate us to make it as nice as it was again. We'll just assume that the owner will appreciate it..

Ever since i adjusted the over tightened intake valve clearance, my valve cover never stopped leaking. Replaced that gasket and plugs 4 times and it still leaked for some reason.
Yes, followed the manual for sequence and torque. This time i triple checked to be sure that both mating surfaces are clean and dry, took my time installing the plugs and added some RTV (just a smudge) on the bottom of the plugs where it sits in the head, as well as on the top where the gasket sits. Triple checked the torque all round....if it leaks again i am unsure what to do next.
It never leaked before, 1 year and 7 months of ownership and i never had to use any RTV in there, just some silicon grease on the rubber plugs and they slide right in. Lets see, i am giving time for that RTV to settle before going out for a drive this evening.
I have never had to use rtv on the valve cover, either. that's odd

Impulsively checked out my blower motor as it wasn't blowing any air into the cabin (for a couple of months already).
Stuff was rusty and pretty hard to turn by hand, so I put some oil where moving parts meet static parts. It rotates easily now and does the job again.
I was entertaining my 5 year old son while doing so, so couldn't really take the time to take it out and clean it properly. I'll just hope it'll last for a bit.
