i think its only appropriate that we have a single thread to reference enlighten those of the potential of the e36 in n/a form. i encourage chastising in this thread because in moderation it tends to get results so if you know someone with potential call them out.
i will include the best time from each member provided time slips are included. i may even have an unofficial list for those that have lost theirs, id like to still acknowledge their efforts.
as some incentive i will include a top 10 list and maybe as the stigma is slowly lifted and bmw's start to become synonymous with 1/4 mile...(i can has dream)...ill lengthen the list to top 25.
i have lots to add to this in the coming days and i will continue to update the first post with the standings. so i ask in the mean time to link me to a thread and or send me time slips. it may be a couple days before i get back to this but i will not sell out the n/a crowd. im in this for the long haul there to much left on my plate to leave now

i made this post in another thread and think it needs more press
advice on launching:
i recommend you read this how ever many times it takes to make sense.
1) make sure if you go through the water that it all comes off your tires before you leave the line. also people that go before you could potential create a problem with residual water down in your lane, try and be aware
2) tire pressure and tires themselves are very important and can make the task of launching the car closer to second nature. i have a feel for about how much acceleration my tires can take just before they break lose(my anxiety often clouds my judgment though).
3) just stay with the clutch a little while after leaving the line and make a smooth transition into all throttle...that transition into full throttle needs to be made longer as the rpms in which you launch at and power to weight ratio decreases. for example....this is important to understand....if i launch my car at 2000rpms i can get off the clutch and go wide open throttle very soon after my cars gains momentum...on the other and if i launch my car at like 5000rpms ill have to stay with the clutch much longer to ensure when i lift off the clutch my tires dont break lose. in the latter scenario image if i let off the clutch at like 5mph...essentially it would have a similar effect to that of a clutch kick to induce lose of traction.
here is an example where i had a feel for threshold of the tires. in this video i launched way to high so i had to stay with clutch longer in order to prevent tire spin. that day i shot that video temperatures were in the 3x's and with those same tires because people think tire spin is indicative of power i could spin 2 completes gears so that when i shifted into 3rd i was actually traveling 60mph.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZB6JCvroyw[/ame]
4) here is another common mistake people make.
people will often shift as soon at they break lose. if your car dosent have much momentum and has enough power it will just spin you in second gear as well. most of the time if you had the proper momentum that the first gear would give you(i.e. bottom of 2nd after a redlined 1st is ~30mph for me) the car would never break lose at those speeds.
here is a video of me with a terrible launch...i launched high and got off the clutch before i had enough momentum thus inducing wheel spin(as i described above) and only smart thing i did was ride out 1st gear...had i shifted right away i would have easily spun 2nd gear.

Fish,
My 95 M3 is no longer with us ( RIP ) but I ran a 13.61@100.mph with a 1.901 60ft with the following mods:
3.5in cosmos intake, 3.5in MAF, 24lb inj, TMS Chip, UUC TSE Exhaust, 3.91lsd. I ran that time on 235/40/18 General UHP Exclaims about 2 years ago. I don't have the slip anymore, but if you want the exact times there they are.
Oh and 1/8th mile time was an 8.701@81mph( not exactly sure on that mph for the 1/8th).
Also, would you consider M Coupes/roadsters with the S52 as well for this list?
“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28
Well I can't speak for the M3 because I don't have the slip anymore, but as for the M Coupe my best trap was a 102.5mph but at a 13.71.
My best ET in the M Coupe so far is a 13.60@100.53mph. All of that info is in my sig taken right from the time slip which I threw away, but I do have a vid of me running that time. It is hard to see the time in the vid because the time came up on the wrong board but it is indeed the run in my sig.
I also have a vid of a run where I ran a 13.61@101mph on the same day but I will have to upload that to my photobucket account when I get home.
When I ran the current time in my sig I was on street tires with the just an intake and M50 manifold. At the time the car put down 212rwhp/211rwtq on a dynojet. Only difference now is a catback, but I will be going back with some DR's and a reinforced rearend...........
Here is the vid of the 13.60 run:
EDIT:
The car weighed in at the track at 3130lbs with a 1/2 tank of gas and driver.

I don't see model specified in those rankings (maybe i am missing it..it's late :P)
Are they all s50/s52 or general e36 as the title says?
Are we interested in all e36's?
Some ladies like a hand-held. I prefer to drive mine.
Nope. Diff is 3.23lsd right now. I am currently in the market for one but nothing as of yet.
The times that I have in my sig and that vid I posted are with only intake and m50 manifold. Nothing else.
I think when I get a 3.73lsd and DR's I will run loow 13's. We will see.

alrighty I'll go ahead and submit an old one then if that's cool.

Some ladies like a hand-held. I prefer to drive mine.
the car is a 97 e36 m3, street legal driven daily full stereo, a/c car weight over 3100lbs as weighted at track, owners name is Delroy Barclay (raymond 97 ) a new member, video posting soon, he's left lane, Z06 in the right lane, after that run the track officals personally checked his car for power adder (they were dissapointed)
thats my boy delroy! finally post the time sheet i gave him the 12.6 vid 2 day so he'll b postn very soon. 2 c the slip properly u have use the zoom & its clear as day
hard to believe but true, we went thru alot of broken parts to get to this point, (clutch, driveshaft, diff flange) alot of trial n error, dyno tuning, suspension tuning, if u look at is trap speed it's not all about power, we're lacking up top (working on that), out of respect to the owner he'll have to come on and list his mods (all bolt-on), the owner is new to the forum, we'll b at e-town this week if anyone wants to come look, we're gunning for a 12.4
we ran 3:64 and got 12.8 in the 1/4 and i think it was 107mph using 4th gear (it blew up), we then went with the 3:23 we netted a 12.6 @ 110mph 3rd gear, it's not just a gear thing, the new gear allowed us to more use the torque of the motor and the shift point was moved to 7800rpm, i list the mods done to the car in the drag standings thread, these times were achieved by building the car where each mod complimented each other.
BIG THANKS to Bimmertc20 for all the help and also for posting the timeslip. A full list of Vendors, their products and technical support provided will be posted soon. Car specs coming soon. Videos are posted on youtube the car is a Blue 4dr M3.
