Lucas oil stop leak for leaking Rear Main Seal

I've got a '89 525i with a minor oil leak at the rear main seal. It has been recommended that I try Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak as way to slow the problem and major job of replacing the seal. Has anyone tried this product? Are there any negatives to using this kind of additive.

So additives are not good. I should wait the rear main seal to worsen and then do the repair.

I've had some friend have moderate luck with autorx (www.auto-rx.com) for leaking seals. Seems to be well liked on the bobistheoilguy.com website.

    Never tried it myself tho.
