I just bought a 2002 330ci stick. I'd like to put a turbo on it and i need some info on everything i need. Im a noob as you can tell. Im just looking for the basics right now. I'd like to have atleast 300 to the tires, I'd like more than that of course! I'd like to build my own setup just to save some money. thats why im steering clear of the prebuilt setups. thx!
i see... is there a lot of problems with them? the basic info im looking for is how much psi can a stock motor handle? good brands to look for... I think one of the first things id like to do would be a lightweight flywheel.
brumsky are you going to be fabricating all of your piping, exhaust, etc. yourself? what are your plans for tuning?
I heard that technique tuning was making a turbo setup for a 330. Im not sure what to use for tuning! thats why im here asking for some help! i've read about a tec III thats been used for that. I read that was about 2k for that alone. i read about spa headers that can be used for turbos and varies bov and wastegates. ss oil lines and all that fun stuff. i just dnt know where to start. so any help would be great!
Word of advice (and you'll hear this from quite a few people here, I think) - make a firm decision on how and where you'll get your tuning done before you buy a single part. For somebody new to the BMW aftermarket world, tuning isn't nearly as easily available for these cars as it is for other makes.

Exactly. Don't worry about hardware until you talked tuning and you know what direction you can go. So far, for OBDII your choices are TT/ ICS, AA and ?TRM? if "shark edit" is delivered?? Don't know about TRM for sure....I would imagine Mike would purchase the commercial version of shark edit for his OBDII needs.

Well, the HPF kit for the 330 will be out in this december supposedly. And, their results from the m3 i would say wait for it it will be worth it.
isnt jim coming out with some obd1 and obd2 tuner soon. this should work with the older program E46s right?
