Seating questions

My 92 Touring has only the plain jane tan(?) seats. No heater, no memory, non-sport. I'd like to find an upgrade. What year E34 seats fit my car that are plug and play? Top of my list would be Sport seats of course. Were there ever sport seats for the E34 with memory and heat? Or was it one or the other?

'95 540 sports and M540s have sport seats with memory, and many have seat heating. There are a handful of '92 M5s with seat memory (and heating). Memory isn't plug and play, you'll need the intermediary memory harness for it to work, and there are two different memory systems (actually three, but two are very similar) used in E34 production, so the harness has to be matched to the seats. Beyond that, all sport/comfort non memory seats are plug and play for the car.

Put some Arizen's in, and make some custom seat brackets for them...thats what I'm planning on doing :D

i'm pretty sure e32 seats are also the same (check realoem) which will widen your options. e32's should all be leather, heated, and some will have adjustable lumbar.

do you have vinyl, or leather?

i'd love to upgrade to tan sport seats, but i've never seen them in tan. black is much more common. actually i'd really like cloth sport seats, but i'd have to import from europe and i never will.

All US spec E32 driver's seats have memory and lumbar, but not all have heat.

my 2 cents... consider yourself good-to-go with your plain-jane arrangement... especially if your plain-jane leather is nice... and save your pennies for the inevitable mechanical issues ($$$) versus cosmetic stuff.
