I ordered my car today: 328i Coupe

I did it. Here's the scoop:

- 328i Coupe
- Manual
- Alpine white
- Black Dakota
- Gray poplar
- Premium package
- Electronic sunshade
- iPod adaptor

The salesman said max of eight weeks before the car comes in. I don't know if its national, but at Classic BMW in Plano, TX, the deadline to order at current prices is tomorrow at the close of business. Having totaled my car I was going to order now anyway, but its nice to know I beat the increase.

Whew! Kinda nervous! I've never ordered a car before.

Congrats, but lol, that is a trick they always use to pressure you to close the deal right away. Doesn't matter really, if rates go down you should ask them to give you the new lower rate when your car arrives, if they go up, you are locked at the current rate.
So no Sports package huh? You'll miss those sports seats and nicer steering wheel.

Two thoughts. I had read elsewhere of the price increase as of June 1. Is that not true? Can't remember where I read it. That's why the deadline of this week was believable. But either way I'm car-less so I was ordering this week no matter what.

Secondly, I just didn't care for the sport seats, and I didn't want the sport tires. I weigh 280 lbs and to me the seats were just restricting to the point that I felt pinched. And the big thing that I wanted in the sport package was the suspension, which comes with the coupe. That and the 17" tires were two big reasons I went with the coupe over the sedan.

Makes sense in your case, the sports package (seats esp.) is not necessarily for everyone and as you mention, you do get the best part of it which is the tuned suspension.

Congrats you're going to be pleased with an excellent purchase. The waiting is the worst part.
