No more whining about no cup holders...here's the Genuine BMW Cup Holder for E34 and E32...

Stealer Part Number: 82 11 1 468 722

Now QUIT whining and go get one...LOL...

I got mine off of eBay a year and change ago...along with other OEM goodies like Canvas Seat Covers...First Aid Kit...Storage Tray or the Driver's side of the boot...and Boot Organizer...

...These are from a seller called eluka888 whose store is called eluka_com...he's still there and still has most of the goodies in stock...

I got the OEM boot organizer not to long ago, nice!
Actually in checking the store I got the small trunk storage box, OMG they are asking over $62 plus shipping for it. I got it for $15 from another eBay seller new with the OEM instructions. I also found the heated European aspherical mirrors not to long ago for $50/pr. I checked that BMW part number at bavauto.com and that is the same cup holder that I got with the car I did not realize it was OEM BMW - nice! Now you guys have me wanting the smilies with the frenched high beams, I see a guy has new clear aftermarket ones for $150/pr on eBay. I should probably just save my money for the next thing that may break, quit, or die though.

:redspotGot one, too from bavauto. Doesn't hold much more than cans. If you get a cup that has a bottom small enough to fit, it's way too top-heavy. Sorry, but I'll continue to whine until there's a better solution... :stickoutt

There are better solutions and designs on the bavauto website but they come at a steep price. ~$100 or more, not worth it to me. One looks like it is designed to be wedged in the long narrow compartment and folds out and has wood accents on it. I typically use the cupholder to hold my cell phone anyway. The other long narrow compartment adjacent to the E-brake is for a hairbrush and the gold Carrera Porche Design sunglasses in the hard shell plastic case from yester year. Got to look good for the 40-50ish women that the car typically attracts.

Can the seat be moved fully forward without contacting the cupholder?

If not, it ain't all that.
