Troubling Engine Noise (540)

At upwards of 4,000 rpm (closer to 4,500) there is an interesting wurring sound almost similar to a supercharger whine. It stays constant above 4,500, so i haven't been driving my engine any higher than 4k recently. (This is with the engine completely up to temperature) Is this noise common to E34's or is it something i should be worried about? :shifty

same here, pretty much everyone who has a M60 can say they have this noise.

that hurring noise (at least in my situation) is usually the police chasing my ass down :pullover
but seriously, I don't know what sound you're referring to

I'm not quite aware of the sound either....I don't really know what to say besides everything sounds normal...
