Right....

so...the exhaust was done on tues...it consists of stock cats with a y pipe right after into a 3" pipe into a magnaflow 3" in 3" out part no. 14219 sitting where the stock muffler would be into an oval shaped tip. fits perfectly in the opening...

she sounds even better in real life...its undescribable, u kinda wanna say its a V8 sound, but not really, u wanna say, inline 6 ala Skyline, but its not that either, and it almost has a bit of the Ferrari sound to it as well...i get goose bumps whenever i hear it. it turned out 10x better than what i expected.

learn from me. screw the "resonator delete" i had that before....it sounded "better" but i spit on it compared to this...it doesnt have none of that raspiness that comes at higher rpm...i think the whole smooth resonance thing comes from combining the two pipes...

i had a 5.0 with cat back magnaflows...NOTHING like this...this definitively has an exotic sound to it...i ask myself sometimes if i accidentally swapped in a V10 DOHC in there....

anyways, also, ignore the check engine light, its the 02 sensors, ignore the ASC light as it no longer works, ignore the temp guage 1/4 way up as its the plug in the back of the cluster acting up....

wow, please post pics of the exhaust...i think im going to do exactly what you did except w/ no cats as i have already taken them off. 2 months w/ an open exhaust dumped at the rear axle = pounding head. did you buy the tip at the exhaust shop or somewhere else..i dont know if i want an oval though, i like the 2 tip look

the pictures of the car will be coming soon, its raining here and it sucks....i'm attending a local bimmer cruise on sun so i'll take pics there...

it got a lot quieter after the magnaflow, it just rumbles at idle and purrs when u're not pushing it. step on it and she starts to howl.....3000 to 5000 she sounds unbelieavable...

i went with an oval because i needed a tip that will fit onto a 3" muffler, HINT, not a lot of those out there...he actually had to cut off the 2.5" inlet on the tip and weld on a 3" pipe, as well my ACS rear apron has a smaller exhaust opening so dual tips were gonna be hard to fit...and its not a real oval....it has flat top and bottom, imagine dual tips with the two circles joined.... bah just wait and u'll see the pics

Does it have any drone when just just driving around town n stuff? I know it's not really the same but one of the cars I test drove before I bought my car was a 525i with obviously a boyracer PO, with dual fart cannons out the back, and it gave me the biggest headache. I was wondering if yours has the same affect... kinda.

OT: I dunno if it's just because it's a Canadian accent, but in the second vid I thought you almost sounded exactly like Jeremy from Pure Pwnage.

They both sound great. The magnaflow sounds much more like an E34 M5 surprisingly. It has more of a BRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHH than the thundering growl of the open headers.

Yeah the turbo is from the e23 745i. I need to find pics of the exhaust manifold but its just 3" straight back with a 14834 magnaflow.

Its pretty deep and throaty at idle.

I'd rather go with a dual tip setup like the 14807 but the inlets are all 2.25/2.5 iirc.
