I took my 2007 328xi coupe to the dealer because it was having difficulty shifting and there was a weird, rattling kind of noise coming from the passenger side of the engine. Turns out the car had a faulty seal and was leaking transmission fluid. The dealer repaired it under warranty (although the repair took three days) and now it's just like new. However, I have two questions. First, I was told the transmission had to be removed to replace the seal. Is that correct? Second, I get a warning when my windshield washer fluid is low. Why no warning when the transmission fluid is low? Evidently, the fluid was quite low. Anyway, car runs great now.
