Been lurking here since 2006 and haven't pulled the trigger on a 335 coupe because I was waiting for the M3. I am now looking to do an M3 for 2008 or wait for the 335 / 2009 model year.

IYO or better yet do you know if in 2009:

1. BMW will release a 335 tii
2. The 335 will get an update like the sedan (ie hood and ground effects)
3. Anyone have an idea how the iDrive will differ (Besides the new dial and buttons)

I own cars for at least 8 to 10 years and only get one shot at bliss...

Thanks

My guess is no updates to either. The body is new and so I would assume no changes. Make your decision on the car. I own a 335xi now, but am buying a M3 today. The cars are night and day different. If you want a fast nice car for $50k loaded go for the 335, if you want a insanely fast amazing handling car which looks awesome and everyone wants, and you have $70k to spend, go for the M3. If you really have cash, and cant make up your mind, get both.

I haven't seen anything on a tii version of the 335 and would not count on it. Your link doesn't work, by the way.

Unless you're going to track it regularly, a 335 is the best choice. The M3 is awesome but it's not as good as a daily driver and is a lot of premium to pay if you're not going to use what you're paying for.

Agree not good for dailing driving but most buy to an M car to impress. The M3 coupe looks awesome in person. It stood out in a restaurant parking lot. You can't help but notice it with the carbon fiber roof, hood bulge, side vents, etc.

(shrug)...depends on what you want. For 25 large, I can find other ways to impress people.

The difference between 335 and an M3 is so much more money, and from a 135 to a 328 is like $500, so they both have pricing issues to overcome. The 335 Coupe has proven to be a helluva value.

I guess it depends on who you want to impress, your friends or perfect strangers. Me, I could care less what other people think, and I impress my friends with my awesome driving skills.:rolleyes:lol3

Buy the 335 and spend the 25 large on driving schools. You'll have a helluva lot more fun and end up a better person. :D

How many track days do you want to do? How many will you really do in in years 3-5?

The stiff ride WILL get old.

It is as much, OR MORE fun to drive a slower car fast. Get the 335 with as many options as you can think you might ever want.
