I'm considering purchase of a certified 2007 328xi with 19,000 miles. It comes with steptronic automatic transmission, premium package, cold weather package, and Xenon headlights. They are firm at $33,000.
Also considering a certified 2006 325xi with only 8,000 miles, steptronic automatic transmission, premium package, cold weather package, and Xenon headlightsas PLUS Logic7 sound system and parking distance control also included. Their best price is $32,000.
Carfax is clean on both. Which sounds like the better deal or can I do better?
Thanks.

I think they are both a little over priced but I would go with the 325i if I were to chose from the two. It has a couple more features than the 328i, it has only been driven for 8k miles vs 19k, and it is for a more affordable price. Performance wise the two are very very similar, so I wouldn't worry about the extra 15 horsepower/torque the 328i has over the 325i

FWIW I picked up my loaded E91 328xi for $29,999 out the door in Feb of this year. It had 27k miles on it at the time.

Why an automatic? I mean if you're one of those kinds of people, why not just get something cheap like a Hyundai or a Toyota?

considering there are many, many expensive cars with automatic transmissions, that is a stupid question.
price on the 328 seems pretty high. I paid $39K for a brand new 09 with AT/prem pkg/CW pkg (no Xenons) in October...

You know that the next gen Ferrari F458 will be auto paddle shifters only right? That being said, the prices seem pretty high. I have a 2007 328i, 33k miles, CPO, heated seats, power seats that ran $25k, i believe roughly $27k out the door. I saw a 328i coupe not too long ago that was CPO and going for $22k. I think reasonable prices should be in the mid 20s for a good 325/328.

I sold my 2006 330i loaded for 22,000 this past year it had 47k in excellent condition.

I agree, both sound a little steep, especially the 2006. If you are financing, BMW has 1.9APR for 60 months on 2007 3 Series. vs. 5.9APR on the 2006. The 2007 sounds like a better buy, especially if you finance at the better rate.

My last BMW was an '07 328xi. Loved it. I'd go with that baby.

Spend some time looking at online listings for similar vehicles. I think that you will see the price difference. You know, if you can find a very similar car in another market for a good deal cheaper, you will have a good tool for negotiation.
Take the time to look around online, and you may save yourself a sizable chunk of change.
