Hello all,

Ordered my 335 coupe last week and was told to expect 4 to 6 week dleivery time. Just wondering what most people's experience has been with production and delivery of a 335 coupe. SA warned that it could take up to 8 weeks or more ! I can't wait that long !

I ordered mine 7 weeks ago today. It literally came off the truck at my dealership 30 mins. ago. My SA called and told me they have 5 other cars to prep and he is trying to get my delivery tomorrow, but if not it will be Monday. I can't wait that long! Knowing my car is there is killing me. My SA did give me an estimate of 7 weeks and he was right on to the day.

I ordered my 335i on Feb 9 of this year. Production was started on Feb 29, I picked up my car on April 24th. The main reason for the delay was mechanical trouble with the ship crossing the Atlantic. The ship got about a third of the way across (as tracked on the web), turned around and went back to Europe (Antwerp, Belgium) for repairs, adding a couple of weeks to the total time from order to delivery.....you never know. The bottom line is....it was well worth the wait. The car is awesome!! (Black saphire on Terra, Sport, Cold, Premium, satellite, HD radio, Nav.-6-speed manual)

Don't bother looking at the Owner's Circle site. The car can be sitting in your driveway, and it will still say scheduled for production. :stickoutt

Getting closer ! Just called the 1-800 number for tracking and was told that production was complete 4/29 and it has been waiting at port since 5/2. Any idea how long the final leg may take ? The excitement is definately buiding ! Having trouble sleeping !

I ordered mine (E93) on March 31st, and it was finished production on April 21st. Waited at dock for about 5 days, is now on it's way to Oxnard by way of Panama with an ETA of May 19th. I see the boat is just West of Puerto Rico at the moment. They need to put the Aerodynamic kit body panels on at the VPC which I would anticipate 3 or 4 days delay before being brought here to Modesto for delivery. I'm expecting a total turnaround time on mine of about 8 weeks, but we'll have to see.

Mine took 8 weeks to get to the San Francisco Bay Area. It felt like 8 months and sometimes like 8 years.

It's definitely worth the wait and every penny. The car is much better than I thought it would be. I don't think I'll ever buy anything other than a BMW again.

Detriment, what is the order code for the aerodynamic kit that is installed at port of entry?

I ordered my E92 328i yesterday, May 8, 2008, at ~2:00 p.m. CDT. The SA said I should expect approximately eight weeks.

You all have it made. Maui Hawaii adds another two weeks minimum. It only took a week to start production, a week to build, a week to ship, and now the long wait.

It took 8 weeks each (ordered 2 because one had the wrong interior trim...only took one home though :shifty) to reach the dealership.

Thanks. It looks like my car will most likely be on the May 16 ship for arrival in CA on June 9. I wonder how long it will take to get to Colorado.

Do you know how to tell if your car made it on a ship?

Yes. Log on here;

BMW Owners' circle (https://www.bmwusa.com/Secured/Content/forms/login.aspx)

And track your car.
If it's on the dock, it will show 'Awaiting Transport'

Once on board 'En Route'.....

Yeah, I have that. I was wondering if you can track it once on a ship. I am a bit concerned about the timing for me. I am going on vacation for 16 days beginning June 28 and would like to take delivery of my car before that date.

I think your salesperson will have that information. Contact them and ask.
I have and am awaiting a response.
