i took my car to the mech and they put in my polyurethane front control arm and rear toe powerflex bushings. man, they make a big difference in handling. my car feels more responsive and it feels like a whole new car. my old bushings were pretty bad, the 2 lower control arms had tears in them and the mech told me that my rears were pretty bad as well, so that might make a difference. i can't wait to try it out at the auto-x in San Antonio this weekend.

Was there a big difference in interior road noise?

How much did the labor cost? Can you break it down to front and rear? Thanks - Jay

Is that stuff daily driveable?

guys, the car is still a daily driveable. i was expecting the ride to be worse and my car to be noisy, but it isn't worse than before and there is no noise w/in the cabin. the bushings are not the typical hard-ass polyurethane bushings from most places. they are more pliable, but they are more durable than the oem. i got them for @ $39 ea for the front and the rears from www.opmd.com. labor was a bitch tho. the fronts were $225, but the rears were $435! my mechanic was pretty impressed with them, especially since he only likes to use oem parts. he might even start stocking them b/c he thinks they might be better.

I checked out the site. Sounds like a great product. Betsy could use some new bushings.

GP anyone?

bj, who did the work, black forest? Sayther? I think I'll copycat you if you don't mind. :D

Also, a bit confused on which bushings. Which ones? It looks like on their site they sell:

frt anti roll bar bushings
frt wishbone bushings (standard or eccentric)
rear beam bushings (both front and rear for the 'rear beam')
rear trailing arm bushings

Are the 'wishbone' bushings 'control arm bushings'? I know I need new trailing arm bushings, but I'm thinking that maybe it would be good to change out some of the others too.

hey jeff, black forest did the work. lee's crew always do a good job. the lady that does their billing thinks i'm strange b/c i always aks them to do unusual, non-break-fix type of work.
