What is the best kind of car cover for an e36, specifically an m3 not that it makes much of a difference. Should I just go with an OEM one. And where would be the best place to buy?

Bavarian Auto has a full line of covers - you should try them.

Oh but the best kind, is a garage ;-)

depends if you storing it indoors or outdoors.

OEM is fine for indoors.

For outdoors, the absolute best cover is the Covercraft WeatherShied HD.
It's the next best thing to a garage.
