View Full Version : o2 Sim Question
I have searched and I have found some answers, and this is some what of a silly question but I am just crossing my t's before I pull the trigger. I am getting a exhaust system made for my track car, straight out now muffler, resonator, or cats. What I am looking to do it buy the AA track and just use the collector to go 3" single all the way out. Now my questions is, if I don't get o2 sims I will get at permanent CEL Light, but will that alter the cars performance, and what danger could I run into by not getting sims. If I can safe myself $200 dollars then I am going to. I appreciate you help on this.

Not having the post-cat O2 sensors won't affect the car's performance, but will cause a CEL. O2 sims are the fix for that. Not having the pre-cat O2 sensors will affect the car's performance as they are in the feedback loop for mixture control.

nothing marked down for BMW?
well I want to thank everyone for their help on this matter and that simple fix for the o2's is a great idea and I don't doubt it works. However, I bit the bullet and bought the o2 sims from Marco and section A of the track pipe. I figured instead of having to drill bungs I will just do the sims make the whole fab process easier. So by the end of next week I will have a 3" single tube straight pipe, should be rather loud which is what I need as I can't hear the thing on the track at this point. But again thank you all.
