seems I need a secondary air pump to pass since CEL is on. Was not picked up on code in first test but now its there. If I unplug it will I still have a code problem, BMW 328i 1997 150,000. Just spent 700,00 on new sensors for different codes P0133 and PO430 and now this. Seems quite rediculous.

i would call it lucky--my secondary pump and valve went out at 60k

Mine at 55K. Lucky for me the dealer picked it p nder "good will". List for the pmp is 400. try an after market supply house,

Code 1421 secondary Air injector valve circuit short to Ground. Does that Mean I have a short somewhere or is the valve shot?

If codes are clear now but the mechanic says cat not ready even though codes are clear will I still fail emissions? Cat was ready when I went in for the test? Now its not ready and I fixed the two codes that it said to? Check engine light is off but the mechanic said I will still fail, how is that?? Isn't the MIL (used) only when the check engine light is on?
