Hey, tonight I just purchased a 1991 525i tonight.

Details:

139,000 Miles

Automatic

Interior is good

Exterior is really good

Runs great but I just dropped it off at a mechanic to double everything

Price.....$700 :redspot bought it from a friend who who wanted to get rid of it.

Anything I should worry about? (besides that it's an auto :()

maybe suspension arms, subframe mounts, power steering leaks, VC gasket, maybe fuel/air filter...i'm sure there are more, but these came straight to mind.

Yeah, I'm hoping the inspection goes well in the morning. Everything does seem fine. Engine seems to be running great, no weird sounds, suspension seems pretty solid, just everything seems to good to be true.

I will post up pics tomorrow or thursday.

How come it was being sold for so cheap then, if they could have sold it for 4x more?

A friend said that it needed to be sold tonight. He said that it has been sitting for a little while and he had to jump start and it then started up.

He then drove it to his apartment building and tried starting it up again and it wouldn't. Last night he got a notification saying that he couldn't park where he was at and that they were going to tow him if he didn't move it. I guess he decided to sell it instead of trying to move it.

He has a 2003 325i. I i tried starting the car up and it started up fine. I had a couple friends with me who are very mechanical and we took a look at it. Then we took a test drive and everything seemed to run smoothly. Throughout the night I've been starting it up and there hasn't even been a delay.

My theory is that the only problem was that it just had a rough time because it just got out of storage :dunno
