:evil2 I Just bought an manual 1996 e36 M3 today for $7,500 out the door. Awesome condition for the age the only thing that was wrong with it when we went to the shop was a oil gasket leak:buttrock. Now that it is night time I noticed that when I accelerate the dash lights just go out between 1st and 2nd shift. Has any one else experienced something like this that may be able to shed some light on to why this may be?

Check the connectors and the seating of the lamps in the cluster first.

we are going to be cleaning the ever living hell out of the engine bay, detailing the tires, and taking care of some weather seal problems this weekend. As i go along i will be taking pic's i will post later this week or early next week with the updates. Thanks for the compliment on the car too. cant wait to start the mods but love comes first. the M bug bit me hard.

Thats usually what happens. I dunno about the manuals, but in the auto cars all the lights appear to go out when you shift from 1st to 2nd b/c for that brief second you're traveling faster than the speed of light. Its normal.

Great now that you got your m3 get your piece of shit hunday out of my drive way and lets go offroad it. My m3 is getting pissed off having that thing behind it, bad enough it has to deal with a toaster owen.
