The new style RTAB's do not have a lip, and the metal shell looks like it has a seam. Has anyone used this type? Do they need to be compressed in order to install them in the trailing arm? Any advice?

I just put in the UUC bushings this weekend. It was tough getting the old ones out but putting these in took about 30 seconds. A two piece bushing like this is the only way to go in my opinoin.

I just pushed them flush to the RTA. The home-made bushing tool shown elsewhere still semi works, but it takes a couple tries to get it right.
If i could do it again I would just do the UUC poly bushings. No need to preload or anything.

Did you use the new style bushing without a metal lip?

Neither needs to be compressed. Both need to be pressed into the arm however. I started mine in a vice and then pressed them in with my Victory tool. Lip or no lip is the same...the difference is only in removing them.

They need to be pressed into the trailing arm with the special RTAB tool. They will become compressed when you use the tool.

Put these in the ///M a few weeks ago, started one end in rta mount hole and used a large hose clamp to compress the busing to get it started, then press into rta mount hole, took off hose clamp and finished pushing it till both sides are even in the rta mount hole.
