Ugh.

Ok, after talking with Bluebimma about his strut bar, and making him send me a huge pile of photos to confirm it'd fit with the ASC, I ordered the same bar he has. It's labeled as AC Schnitzer, although I know it's not. Not a bad looking unit at all, seems nice and strong. At the very least it'd be good for bludgeoning people.

Except it doesn't fit on my car.

Oh, the strut caps fit. Bolted on beautifully. But when I put the bar itself on, it appears to be too long by about half the thickness of the bolt. Taking advice I found on the forum, I jacked the car up until the front tires were just lifting off the ground... no change.

I'm begining to think one of my strut towers is bent. Is there any way to check this, without spending a fortune? The car looks straight, tracks straight, and except for my right-rear (open diff FTL) doesn't have any excessive tire wear. According to carfax, it's not been in any accidents, although I do know that the PO jumped a curb or something since I have a receipt for an underpanel, control arm, and one new rim with tire (both front were bent, the spare was brought into rotation and the least bent rim became the spare).

Edit: Ok, just talked to Blue... might have had the strut hats rotated 90 degrees, so I'll have to try that. Stupid no-instruction ebay stuff. :stickoutt

atleast u can find a bar to fit yours.. i bought one for the 4 cylinder. said it fit all 4 cylinder engines. lucky i tried fitting it before i left the place because it wouldnt clear the inlet manifold on my M43.

i might have to resort to making one.. no point fitting poly control arm bushes and such without a strut bar.. well ok maybe not but u know what i mean.
